Struggling to Grow Online? Here’s the Strategy That Finally Made Sense
The 5 Social Media Lessons That Helped Me Grow Faster
I listen to a lot of podcasts.
Most are good.
But this one? Gave me exactly what I needed.
I was listening to the Creator Science podcast with Caleb Ralston* — and something clicked.
He shared a bunch of smart ideas — but these five stood out most for me when it comes to growing on social media.
Here’s what I took from it (and how I’m using it right now).
1. Post more than you think you should
I used to wonder: Am I posting too much?
Turns out, I wasn’t posting nearly enough.
Caleb said top creators push out 300+ pieces of content per week. That includes short-form posts, stories, and micro-updates across platforms.
It’s not about being everywhere — it’s about testing fast, seeing what hits, and learning what your audience actuallycares about.
→ Takeaway:
Volume isn’t spam. It’s speed-learning. And you don’t need to go crazy — even starting with 3–5 posts a day can help you learn fast and build momentum.
2. Reverse engineer your end goal
Caleb calls it the Brand Journey — and I love how simple it is. Use this framework and ask yourself:
What’s your desired outcome?
What do you have to be known for?
What do you have to do?
What do you have to learn?
Most people stop at the first two. But if you want people to buy, subscribe, or even remember your name — you’ve got to lead them all the way.
→ Takeaway:
Don’t just go viral. Build trust. If your goal is to earn a certain income from your content, you need to know what skills to learn — and then actually do the work.
Even if you feel like you have nothing to say right now, share your learning journey.
3. Say the same thing, over and over
This one surprised me: repetition wins.
Not variety. Not cleverness.
Clarity.
If you scroll Caleb’s feed, you’ll notice — he keeps hitting the same core message. But in slightly different ways.
Different angles. Different stories.
But the same idea.
→ Takeaway:
People won’t remember your message unless you repeat it.
4. Volume ≠ garbage
Okay, posting a lot doesn’t mean posting junk.
That’s the trap.
Caleb said if your engagement starts dropping as you post more — it’s time to rethink.
Don’t chase numbers. Chase attention.
Even when you go high-volume, every post still needs a purpose.
→ Takeaway:
More posts are good. But only if they’re still good.
5. Start small, then build
This one’s for anyone (like me) who gets overwhelmed.
You don’t need to go from 0 to 100 in one week.
Start with 3–5 posts a week.
Track what works.
Then double down.
That’s what I’m doing now. Threads is my focus.
I test one idea, see what gets engagement, then repackage it for Medium or Substack.
→ Takeaway:
Simplicity scales. Start small, stay consistent.
Wrap-up
I learned a lot from that one podcast.
It gave me a better lens for thinking about social media — not as a sprint for likes, but as a slow build toward trust.
And if you liked this, you’ll love the strategy that helped me get 1,000+ followers — take a look.
Thanks for reading!
